Founded in 1953, Florida Magazine Association, Inc. (FMA) creates a professional community for publishing professionals throughout the state. The largest state magazine association in the nation, FMA strives to “Promote excellence and the standing of magazines in the Florida publishing industry,” its vision, and “To be the forum for networking, education, recognition and advocacy for Florida’s magazine industry,” its mission. As an advocate for a free, thriving press, FMA voices its professionals’ concerns with media legislation, taxation, postal issues and industry trends at local, state and national levels.
Individuals and companies who produce print and digital magazines become members and gain access to online professional communities, regional networking events, top-quality educational workshops, career opportunities, professional awards and an annual conference and trade show. Elected and volunteer members lead the association as officers, board directors and committee members.
