HAVAS HOUSE LUXURY MAGAZINE GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Global custom media, content, and publishing company Havas House is searching for a seasoned Graphic Designer to develop an ultra-luxury lifestyle publication. Produced on a quarterly basis, the magazine caters to South Florida’s most affluent demographic. Graphic Designer must have experience creating original layouts that portray an elevated look and feel, and be knowledgeable of high-end brands, industry trends, and more.

Summary of responsibilities:

The Graphic Designer will develop strategically designed, visually stunning publications that cater to refined tastes and integrate client brand guidelines while pushing overall strategy to higher standards. The Graphic Designer will:

• Establish professional relationships with Editorial Director and in-house team, and maintain communication with them as needed
• Oversee the visual strategy, creation and coordination of product design
• Drive creativity and innovation that caters to a luxury demographic
• Juggle several creative layouts at once
• Coordinate with Editor to ensure delivery of content and images
• Art direct custom photo shoots and fashion shoots in Miami
• Curate provided images as needed
• Stay current on industry trends and technology and drive cutting-edge ideas
• Develop advertising artwork as needed
• Prepare final files for printer by following guidelines provided
• Create digital files following various guidelines as needed

Qualifications/Skills:

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or practical relevant experience
• 5-8 years’ related design experience (editorial design is required; experience working in an agency-type environment is a plus)
• Strong creative portfolio and passion for good design
• Ability to understand and implement client strategy, branding and nuances in original designs
• Firm design and layout skills including strong command of Adobe Design Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator and understanding of typography, infographics, illustrations, etc.
• Clear knowledge of stock resources
• Ability to conceptualize, produce, negotiate and art direct commissioned photo shoots or illustrations when required
• Ability to clearly and concisely express yourself and explain your ideas and concepts
• Highly organized, team player who enjoys collaboration
• Problem solver
• Willingness⁄ability to work long hours during deadline periods
• Willingness⁄ability to travel to Miami for photo shoots
